New SCA Blog

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to our new SCA blog. The purpose of the blog is to provide a centralised hub for communication of SCA and school news alongside dates and information about fundraising activities. We hope to have regular updates and stories from the school each month. Our first post is from Emily Hall (Teacher, yr3) about the amazing events that transpired when 5G wrote some letters...

At the AGM on Friday 19th November some new parents were elected to the SCA committee. Claire Luxton and Aliya Sheikh were elected Co-Chairs, Carolyn Maloney continues as Treasurer and Alice Wood was appointed Secretary. We elected to adopt the constitution recommended by the NCPTA, and also agreed to apply for charity status.

The SCA now has a new email address - stillnessca@gmail.com. This account has a google calendar which we will use to list all upcoming events. It is public, and has been added to the blog. At the moment it's at the bottom of the page as this was the best way to show it at a useful size. You can click through the months and find the upcoming events. If you click on those events more information will appear. It can be printed out or synchronised to your own personal google calendar. The blog can be followed with an RSS feed, or as a google favourite in any igoogle page. Posts may be shared via email or several different social networking sites using the links at the bottom of each entry.

We have a new logo which you will be seeing around school on our newsletters, stalls, stickers, badges and even aprons! We hope you will like it. We put a lot of thought into finding something which was child friendly and communicated our objectives as an inclusive and fun PTA.

If you have any news or stories which you would like the Stillness community to know about please get in touch, or email them to stillnessca@gmail.com. We will shortly asking parents' permission to use photographs of their children on the blog when appropriate.

I hope you will come to find the blog a useful place to pick up news and find information. I will now hand over the Emily Hall, who is emerging from a pile of cardboard boxes...
